University of Kentucky TrumpetFest

The University of Kentucky’s annual TrumpetFest, which just took place February 3-4, has a collegiate trumpet ensemble contest. I have been scouring the web for information on other trumpet ensemble contests in the United States besides the National Trumpet Competition’s trumpet ensemble division held every year in Fairfax, VA. In 2011, the Middle Tennessee State Trumpet Ensemble won and the Marshall University Trumpet Ensemble took second place at the UK festival. No one from Kentucky has posted the 2012 results yet. I will hopefully continue to find more information on American trumpet ensemble contests. Right now, I’m aware of none put on by major organizations or universities other than the annual National Trumpet Competition and the University of Kentucky trumpet studio.
